AVID Field Trips are back!!!
AVID students visited the University of California Riverside on Monday, March 7, 2022. Their visit included a guided tour of campus and an informative talk from Samantha Popper (AVID-Class of 2018 and UCR-Class of 2022).

"Everything but a Backpack" Day
On Thursday, October 28, 2021, AVID students showed their school spirit and participated in one of the Halloween Spirit Week activities.
On February 26, 2021 our Avid Club hosted movie night !! It was a successful night with more than 35 participants. Monsters University was shown. It was a very fun and exciting event!! Don’t forget our next event on March 5, a Virtual Kahoot Night from 5:30:00-6:30pm!!

On December 07, 2020 our Avid Club hosted our first virtual game night !! It was a successful night with more than 30 participants. We were in breakout rooms enjoying our time and laughing with our fellow classmates. We played games like “among us” where together we had to discover the imposter. It was a very fun and exciting event!! Don’t forget our next event on December 18 a Virtual Movie Night from 7:00-9:00pm!!

Spring 2020 AWARDS!
There is a line from a famous song “Only The Strong Survive” and Bell High School AVID students have proven that to be true every step of the way. Within the span of a few months you have overcome obstacles unprecedented in modern history: A global pandemic: COVID-19; the transition to “Distance Learning” and Zoom school; the world spiraling under the overwhelming pain of racial disparity, and an uncertain economy. Your Spring Semester of 2020 will go down in history as the class who were forced to sacrifice the well earned rituals associated with the culmination of our school year; social distancing meant the cancellation of field trips, college fairs, spring sports tournaments, prom, grad night, and graduating on stage. But In spite of it all, you have made remarkable academic achievements; you took your teachers’ breath away by your resilience and intellectual curiosity; and have shown your friends and family tremendous courage in the face of so many unforeseen challenges. Under the leadership and guiding hand of your AVID teachers, you have not only survived, but exceeded beyond all expectations. We honor your peers in the elective class who reached for the stars and did not allow adversity to stand in their way. Congratulations to you all.

End of Year Celebration
AVID students, Staff, and Parents celebrated another successful year on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Our event was our biggest celebration to date. Awards, presented to outstanding students, were followed by a Potluck Dinner. Thanks for all help and support provided by the Parent Center and volunteers.
UCSD Field Trip
AVID students visited the University of California San Diego on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Congratulations Grace!
Congratulations to Grace Ruiz, AVID 10th grade, for winning medals at 4 events at the District Track and Field Finals. She earned medals for 100m, shot put, 400m, and 400m relay. Job well done!
Class of 2018 Finishes AVID Mural!
A "Starry Night" is the title for the inaugural AVID mural. Started by the Class of 2018, the mural will continue to grow each year with each graduating class. Thank you for the hard work and time donated by Mr. and Mrs. Rosado-Mejia and AVID seniors: Niki Alonzo, Aydee Arechiga, Yubiarely Flores, Gabriel Nuñez, and Alondra Serrano.

Congratulations Bell High's Winter Guard AVID Students!
Bell High School Winter Guard took first place at the Winter Guard Association of Southern California Championships on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Congratulations to AVID Winter Guard members Jacqueline Raygoza, Ruben Sanchez, and Gladys Negrete.

Bell High School's AVID students hosted the Teen Safe Driving Campaign sponsored by Allstate Insurance on March 21, 2018.
AVID Students Volunteer at the LA Marathon
Bell High's AVID students volunteered and supported thousands of runners including their peers from SRLA, our AVID 9th grader- Xochitl Vergara, our AVID 11th grader- Arturo Malagon, and our Dean Mr. Casanas, at the LA Marathon on March 18, 2018.

Bell Mayor Visits AVID Class
City of Bell Mayor Fidencio Gallardo visited our AVID 9th Grade Elective class last Friday, October 27, 2017.
He shared his life experience and encouraged our students to don't ever give up and always do their best.
