The Mathematics Department

Our Vision for our students:

Understand a broad array of math concepts, principles and operations in order to calculate, analyze and solve problems in readiness for everyday use and success in post secondary math, science, and engineering studies.

Our Mission for our students:

Meet or Exceed grade level math Common Core Standards as measured in the 11th grade SBAC.
A minimum of three years of A-G mathematics courses. Minimum required mathematics courses: Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.

Ideal Pacing:
To achieve the required A-G, three years of consecutive math courses the following sequence is recommended:
Grade 9: Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2 (determined by Middle School credit).
Grade 10: Geometry, Algebra 2, advanced or AP courses.
Grade 11: Algebra 2, advanced or AP courses.

After Geometry and Algebra 2 are completed:
Advanced  Courses: Trigonometry, Math Analysis, Statistics, Calculus
AP Courses: AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics AB
